HOW TO VOLUNTEER WITH BRCE

VOLUNTEERING WITH BRCE

Volunteers are the cornerstone on which BRCE is sustained. Because of the commitment and dedication of volunteers, BRCE is able to provide all programmes and services free of charges. Volunteers are needed for numerous programmes and services (see below). If you are interested in becoming a BRCE volunteer, please call BRCE for information..

Roles for BRCE Volunteers:
1. Compassionate Volunteers: those who provide one-on-one support.
2. Facilitators: those who facilitate open or closed for support groups
3. Continuance Volunteers: those who serve on committees, help with fundraising activities, or help with office/clerical type duties, such as newsletter production & distribution.

Training & On-going Education for BRCE Volunteers:

Monthly Volunteer Support Group is held on the first Tuesday of every month from 5:30 p. m. to 7:30 p. m. at BRCE office. These support groups focus on sharing insights, joys, sorrows, successes and concerns.
Workshop for Volunteers is held quarterly on either a weekday evening or Saturday in March, June, September and November. These workshops focus on information, current issues, new concepts and research findings, updates in BRCE policies & procedures.
Conferences: When possible, volunteers are financially supported to attend conferences and other educational events.

N.B. Volunteers who wish to maintain their BRCE status are required to annually attend at least two support groups and two workshops.
